Mt Nicholas Station is located on the western shores of Lake Wakatipu, on the opposite side of the lake from Queenstown. The Station begins on the shores of Lake Wakatipu in the Southern Lakes region of Otago and reaches deep into Southland.

- Private Water Taxi (30 minutes from central Queenstown)
- Aboard Southern Discoveries modern catamaran “The Spirit of Queenstown” (45 minutes from central Queenstown)
- Aboard the historic TSS Earnslaw to Walter peak (12km from Mt Nicholas, is a good option for those completing the around the mountain cycle trail.
- Helicopter transfer (15 minutes from Queenstown airport)
The Station can also be accessed via road from Southland, the road features stunning views however there is 80km of gravel road and two river crossing.
